South Korea Decides to Resume Cruise Ship Entry and Shore Excursions for Foreign Tourists

Starting October 24, 2022, South Korea will normalize cruise ship operations by lifting restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of COVID-19, resuming cruise ship port entries and passenger shore excursions.

From October 24, 2022, cruise ships wishing to enter South Korean ports may do so by complying with pre-COVID-19 quarantine and epidemic control regulations. However, the following additional measures reflecting COVID-19 safety guidelines must be observed:

A. All individuals aboard the cruise ship must wear masks in indoor public areas (such as theaters, dining halls, etc.).

B. Health status must be checked prior to entry using Q-Code or similar systems (submit a health declaration form before entry via a mobile app, etc.).

C. Confirmed cases or symptomatic short-term foreign visitors must be quarantined onboard (disembarkation is not permitted).

Note: The additional requirements above are subject to adjustment (easing or strengthening) depending on future COVID-19 conditions.
